Zalina's experience in vocal performance ranges from singing in music bars to musical theatre (The Edge). She had a brief stint as a chorister in a full-length opera (Puccini's Turandot), and has conducted for and sung in The Philharmonic Society of Selangor, a community choir. She has co-music directed BOH Cameronian Award-nominated a capella group The Wicked Pitches, and has vocal-coached ensembles in local musical theatre productions such as P.Ramlee – The Musical, Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical, and A Christmas Carol. She also conducts classes in music camps in Singapore in collaboration with The A-Capella Society of Singapore. She was also a faithful staple at the Annexe Gallery's Massacre series.
The year 2010 was a musically busy one for her. She was a Muse in Joanne Kam's Taming Of The Shrew, the FairyGodmother/Music director in Nell Ng's Always in Wonderland?, and played Bathsheba in Nick Choo's Follow The Light.
A slave to the stage, she took to it one more time to play the part of Fraulein Schneider in Pan Productions' staging of Cabaret in 2011 before taking a break to have her baby. The show received rave reviews.
She has played The Lion in The Wizard of Oz (2012), and most recently, she's vocal directed PAN Productions' The Producers (2013).
Currently an active member of Singapore's Urban Harmony a cappella group, she zips in and out of Singapore for the honor and pleasure of singing with like-minded vocalists. The group has performed several concerts to date both in Singapore and in Hong Kong, as well as worked with a cappella gurus like Deke Sharon (of Pitch Perfect fame) and Tobias Hug (of Swingle Singers fame).

She previously taught contemporary vocals in UCSI and took on directing said University's Contemporary/Jazz choir.
Zalina received her Grade 8 in vocals when she was 17, and studied further at ITM and ICOM under classical soprano Siti Chairani and jazz guru Irene Savaree. She minored in piano and drums in college, and enjoys many forms and genres of music.
While her training has mostly been classical, her first love is jazz. She cites Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday and DeeDee Bridgewater as some of her influences. She also shows off her versatility by singing R&B, rock, pop, and ethnic music.
